The piano workshop is an excellent class for beginners ages 6 and older. Students not only learn how to play music, but learn how to read and write music theory. Many of our young students already read and write harmony at the college level. The lessons are inexpensive ($20.00 per one hour lesson) and the first lesson is always free. But what makes are class different is that the classes are fun!!! Teachers use games and fun activities to re enforce music theory. Students also make friends and the look forward to each class. Our program keeps the student’s interest for a long time. Many students start at grade school and do not stop until they graduate from high school.
Each student will be assigned one song to prepare for the teacher. Once they play and learn a new piece, they will go to their station to work in their theory book. The class will spend the final five to ten minutes playing a game to review the music theory concepts. Although we could accommodate seven students, there are usually no more that six students per class.
